Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking a Chief Engineer to be based at our Electrical Sector Headquarters location in Pittsburgh, PA. Relocation will be provided to candidates currently residing within the US/PR. This position will require approximately 25% domestic and international travel.

What You’ll Do We are seeking a dynamic technical leader to drive innovation, strategy, and excellence across our Low and Medium Voltage Power Circuit Breaker product lines. This role will lead global engineering teams in new product development, process improvement, and technical leadership to support business growth and industry leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Innovation: Develop and execute technology roadmaps aligned with business goals. Lead innovation initiatives and intellectual property development.

Product Development Leadership: Guide global teams through the full product lifecycle using PROLaunch. Approve requirements, lead design reviews, and ensure technical integrity across projects.

Engineering Excellence: Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tools, and capabilities. Promote digital engineering practices and advanced analysis techniques.

Knowledge Development & Mentorship: Build subject‑matter expertise and lead training programs to foster technical growth across the organization.

Standards & Industry Engagement: Monitor industry standards and represent the company in professional organizations and standards bodies.

Global Collaboration: Lead cross‑regional initiatives with APAC and EMEA teams to develop platform technologies and support global product strategies.

Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in product design engineering.

Minimum of 5 years of experience working in industrial power distribution products and/or systems design.

Minimum of 3 years of experience directly or indirectly leading engineering teams or technology strategy.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.

15+ years of experience in engineering product design.

Design for Six Sigma training and certification.

Demonstrated experience leading technology development roadmaps.

Skills

Knowledge of industrial circuit breaker products and standards.

Strong analytical, creative and strategic thinking skills.

Written & verbal business and technical communication and presentation skills.

Proven record as a change agent within organizations.

At Eaton, we strive to provide compensation and benefits that attract, engage, and retain the best talent. The expected annual salary range for this role is $141,000.03 - $206,800.04 a year. This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
