What to Expect The Autopilot Simulation team's goal is to recreate the real world to provide a comprehensive playground for Autopilot. The team builds a robust and accurate simulation with physics, photorealistic rendering, and intelligent actors to allow thorough testing and accelerated development.

As a full-stack engineer on the Tesla Autopilot Simulation team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining cutting-edge tooling to amplify the impact of simulation in the training and validation of FSD models. Work on a wide range of tools, including 3D browser-based editors, data aggregation pipelines, dashboards, and more.

What You'll Do

Create, maintain, and expand internal tools for simulating and evaluating Autopilot vehicle behavior, focusing on accelerating the development and validation of our models

Design and implement tools and dashboards to analyze simulation results, identify trends, and visualize key performance indicators

Increase our scenario creation throughput by servicing the tooling requests of our Scenario Creation team

Work closely with the simulation team and Autopilot organization to understand workflows and develop tools that enhance existing capabilities and unlock new ones

Own the frontend, backend, and infrastructure of multiple applications, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security

Drive projects from inception to completion, presenting work directly to organizational leadership

What You'll Bring

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or proof of exceptional skills in related fields with practical software engineering experience, or equivalent experience

Strong proficiency in the following languages: Go, Python, TypeScript

Familiarity with 3D work, such as Three.js, is highly beneficial

Experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes

Strong knowledge of relational and non-relational database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, Mongo)

Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills

Passion for autonomy, simulation, and accelerating the future of self-driving technology

Expected Compensation $132,000 - $390,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
