Corporate Staff Attorney
The Corporate Staff Attorney will play a key role in supporting legal, corporate governance, regulatory, and litigation functions. This position is onsite in Louisville, KY and reports directly to the Chief Legal Officer. Preference is given to candidates already residing in the Louisville area. The Corporate Staff Attorney will provide legal support across corporate governance, compliance, litigation management, regulatory matters, and employee‑related investigations. This role is ideal for an early‑career attorney seeking in‑house experience with exposure across multiple legal domains, particularly within healthcare.

Ideal candidate is more of a Corporate Attorney, not a personal injury attorney, not a defense attorney, not a prosecution attorney.
Essential Functions Corporate Governance
Prepare corporate minutes, maintain records, and support governing body presentations.
Draft corporate announcements and internal communications.
File corporate documents with state agencies.
Perform general corporate "housework" and ensure legal document accuracy.
Litigation Management
Coordinate responses to subpoenas and legal notices.
Review and summarize legal pleadings; facilitate discovery.
Manage litigation portfolio, monitor claims, and maintain litigation holds.
Work with outside counsel on investigations and legal strategies.
Negotiate settlements and attend ADR as needed.
Regulatory Compliance
Provide legal guidance on regulatory matters across multiple states.
Assist in compliance efforts related to healthcare and long‑term care operations.
Employee Relations
Conduct internal investigations regarding employee concerns.
Draft position statements for EEOC and OCR claims.
Additional Responsibilities
Support risk management activities.
Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of all legal documents.
Perform other duties as assigned by the CLO.
Required Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) degree (Required).
1‑2 years of experience as a corporate attorney (healthcare law preferred).
Experience in long‑term care or in‑house legal department (plus).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite.
Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage sensitive information confidentially.
