This full‑time, Washington, DC office position involves developing and sustaining integrated, feature‑rich capabilities for modernizing visualization and presentation tools. The role requires strong user experience expertise applied to highly complex, mission‑critical applications, and will work closely with software developers, product managers and system engineers.
Responsibilities
Develop and sustain software features that enhance usability and visual presentation.
Research and document user workflows, design mockups, and produce detailed UI specifications using tools such as Axure, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Microsoft Visio.
Conduct usability testing, gather user feedback, and iterate on design based on data.
Collaborate with product designers and process engineers throughout the application lifecycle (analysis, design, implementation, deployment).
Work with analysts to research, document, and deliver user profiles, tasks, workflows, and scenarios.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in cognitive/experimental psychology, human‑factors engineering, systems engineering, software engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in usability or related fields with familiarity in task analysis, UI design, and usability testing.
5+ years designing and conducting user‑experience research and testing.
Active TS/SCI with polygraph required; current clearance is mandatory.
Desired Experience
Professional certifications such as Certified Human Factors Engineering Professional or Certified Usability Analyst.
Experience creating user surveys and collecting actionable feedback.
Familiarity working closely with users and analysts to translate requirements into usable interfaces.
