Job Description: Seeking a Usability/Human Factors Engineer to join the software development team to develop and sustain integrated, feature-rich capabilities that promote modernization of visualization and presentation tools. The team supports application development and provides tools for mission analytic users to view and contribute data collaboratively.
The engineer will focus on solving user experience challenges in a complex application used by diverse users. Responsibilities include researching and documenting user workflows, designing mockups, engaging with users, and collaborating with developers using tools like Axure and Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.
Additional Information:
Approximately 15 team members including software, system, and test engineers
Work performed at contractor facility in Annapolis Junction
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in cognitive/experimental psychology, human factors engineering, or related engineering fields; advanced degrees preferred
Individual Capabilities Required:
At least 10 years of experience in the field, familiar with task analysis, UI design, usability testing
At least 5 years of user-experience design and testing experience
Experience conducting usability testing and collaborating with product designers and engineers
Designing user surveys for feedback
Applying usability and software engineering cycle phases (analysis, design, implementation, deployment)
Researching and documenting user profiles, workflows, and scenarios to inform UI design
