Job Summary This position provides comprehensive administrative support to the Chair of the department, the CAO, principal investigators and their labs. Initial point of contact and support for the department.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $29.05 - $53.50 (Hourly Rate).

Department Description The Department of Cell and Tissue Biology (CTB) is a basic science department within the School of Dentistry. The department was established in 2005 and includes 15 faculty with primary appointments and five faculty with secondary appointments. Additionally, the department is home to numerous postdoctoral fellows as well as graduate students in programs ranging from Biomedical Sciences, Tetrad and Biophysics to Developmental & Stem Cell Biology and Oral & Craniofacial Sciences. Faculty research interests include cell biology mechanisms relevant to cytoskeletal dynamics, development, metabolism, cancer, immunology and neurobiology.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

1+ years of related experience

Proven ability to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals and perform as part of a team

Familiarity with website creation and maintenance

Ability to use good judgement, discretion and work independently as well as part of a team

Ability to communicate effectively requests and needs to manager, faculty and other staff

Operate professionally in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines

Demonstrated knowledge of Mac and PC environments and peripherals including printers and copiers

Excellent follow through

Strong work ethic, initiative

Excellent demonstrated record of attendance and reliability

Ability to complete all tasks with detail and precision

Focused attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with UCSF reconciliation policies and procedures

Familiarity with website creation and maintenance

Familiarity with systems such as HBS, bearbuy, myexpense, connexus, my reports, peoplesoft financials

Previous experience an academic setting working with faculty, staff and learners
