Job Summary Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Foundations & CFO for Foundations and Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement, the Director of Foundations Finance leads the Foundations Finance & Accounting team to ensure effective financial controls, reporting, and operational support for the Augusta University Foundation, the Real Estate Foundation and the Real Estate Corporation. The role provides strategic financial leadership, oversees budgeting, cash flow, investment policies, audits, and regulatory compliance, and serves as a key liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Lead the Finance & Accounting staff and ensure departmental goals are met.
Maintain accounting systems, account and fund balances, records, and internal controls.
Produce accurate, timely financial and management reports for corporate, foundation, federal, state beneficiaries, and boards.
Partner with the AVP/CFO on strategic planning, budgeting, and financial strategy.
Manage cash, investments, and banking relationships; oversee financing strategies.
Ensure compliance with nonprofit audit best practices and state/federal regulations; coordinate audits and tax filings.
Develop financial business plans and forecasts; provide forward‑looking analysis.
Coordinate short, medium, and long‑term financial plans; represent Foundations to financial partners.
Assist in developing investment policies and performance monitoring.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ accounting experience in higher education or a public employer.
Supervisor experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree.
CPA license.
10+ years of financial management in a nonprofit or philanthropic setting.
Experience with a non‑profit foundation affiliated with a public college or university.
Career progression with proven supervisory skills.
Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge and/or Blackbaud Raiser's Edge.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities The Director will be a self‑motivated, well‑rounded leader with strong financial accounting, reporting, and management background, extensive nonprofit financial experience, and a proven track record in leading teams and complex affiliate structures.
Shift / Salary / Benefits Shift : Days, Monday–Friday (outside normal business hours may be required). Pay Band : B17 Salary Range : $109,500 – $125,000 annually (commensurate with qualifications). Recruitment Period : 11/12/25 – Until Filled.
