Guidewire Configuration Specialist

Position Summary The Guidewire Configuration Specialist designs, configures and maintains Guidewire InsuranceSuite applications—including PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, Digital, and Integrations—to support dynamic business and technical requirements. The role manages complex configurations, release and environment management, and continuous improvement of the platform.
Responsibilities
Configure Guidewire InsuranceSuite applications (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter), including product model updates, entity modifications, Gosu scripting, rule creation, workflow design, and user interface adjustments.
Collaborate with business analysts, developers, architects, and QA teams to translate business requirements into system configurations and enhancements.
Manage release activities by coordinating build deployments, tracking version control, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for smooth environment transitions.
Oversee environment management, including monitoring system stability, performing data refreshes, managing migrations, and resolving issues across development, testing, and production.
Troubleshoot and resolve system and integration issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, release procedures, and environment management practices.
Serve as a subject matter expert on Guidewire platform capabilities, mentoring peers and promoting best practices.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives for configuration standards, release processes, and environment management to enhance operational efficiency.
Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices to keep the team innovative and effective.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Expertise in designing, configuring, and maintaining Guidewire InsuranceSuite products with certifications such as Guidewire Configuration Specialist.
Five or more years of experience configuring and supporting Guidewire InsuranceSuite applications with release and environment management responsibilities.
Knowledge of Gosu scripting, product model configuration, business rules, workflows, and UI customizations.
Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and source code management tools (Git, Bitbucket, etc.).
Experience with environment management, including development, testing, production, data refreshes, and migrations.
Strong project management skills and ability to lead teams in fast‑paced environments.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to translate complex technical concepts.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software applications.
