Summary:
We are searching for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who is motivated to work with Hematology/Oncology patients with a primary focus on Neuro-Oncology.

Dodson Medical Office Building
Department:
Neuro-Oncology
Shift:
First Shift (United States of America)
Standard Weekly Hours:
40
Responsibilities include:
Functioning in collaborative practice with physicians for complex patients.
Performing autonomous patient assessments, diagnoses, and interventions per protocols.
Supporting physicians in patient development and collaboration across specialties.
Providing office coverage during physician absences.
Prescribing treatments, including hospital admissions/discharges, with prescriptive authority.
This position involves inpatient and outpatient care for Neuro-Oncology patients, including performing procedures. Prior Hematology/Oncology experience is preferred.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday
Education and Experience:
Master's Degree in Nursing for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, with at least 2 years of pediatric nursing or related experience preferred.
Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies, with at least 2 years of pediatric primary/specialty or acute care experience, or related allied health field experience preferred.
Licensure and Certification:
Current Texas RN license and advanced practice license for NPs.
Recognition from the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners as an Advanced Practice Nurse.
Certification as Pediatric or Family Practice Nurse Practitioner.
Current BLS (CPR) required; PALS preferred.
For PAs: Current Texas PA license, recognition from the Texas Medical Board, PA-C certification, BLS required, PALS preferred.
