About the Role Virginia Transformer Corporation — the largest U.S.-based manufacturer of power transformers — is seeking an experienced and strategic

Human Resources Director

to lead all HR functions at our

Rincon, Georgia

manufacturing facility.

This on-site leadership role is responsible for overseeing HR operations, shaping workforce strategy, driving culture and engagement, and ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and company standards. The HR Director will partner closely with plant leadership and corporate HR to build a high-performance, safety-focused manufacturing team that supports growth, quality, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership

Serve as the senior HR leader for the Rincon plant, advising plant leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, performance, and culture.

Develop HR strategies that support production goals, retention, and talent pipeline needs.

Influence leadership decisions through data-driven insights, metrics, and best practices.

Employee Relations & Culture

Lead employee relations activities, ensuring consistent, fair, and legally compliant practices.

Oversee internal investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes.

Promote a positive and inclusive work environment aligned with the company’s values and operational goals.

Build strong partnerships across all levels of the workforce, from hourly production employees to senior management.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Development

Oversee recruitment strategies to support rapid plant growth, multi-shift production, and hard-to-fill technical roles.

Drive onboarding, training, cross-training, and development programs that strengthen plant capability.

Partner with corporate HR to support succession planning and leadership development initiatives.

Compliance, Policies & HR Operations

Ensure full compliance with all labor laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA, etc.) and VTC policies.

Oversee accurate maintenance of HRIS records, reporting, and personnel documentation.

Manage FMLA, ADA, workers’ compensation, attendance policies, and leave programs.

Lead audits, policy implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives across HR processes.

Compensation, Benefits & Performance Management

Partner with corporate HR to administer compensation programs, benefits, and annual performance processes.

Support plant leadership in driving accountability, performance coaching, and improvement plans.

Ensure pay practices and job classifications are accurate and compliant.

Safety, Engagement & Plant Support

Collaborate with EHS and operations leadership to reinforce safety culture and compliance.

Lead engagement initiatives that promote retention, recognition, and communication.

Support workforce scheduling, employee transitions, and organizational changes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree or HR certifications (PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) preferred.

8–12+ years of progressive HR experience , with at least

5 years in a manufacturing environment

and

3+ years in HR leadership .

Strong experience with employee relations, investigations, performance management, and HR compliance.

Demonstrated success supporting high-volume, multi-shift manufacturing operations.

Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.

Ability to lead change, influence leaders, and manage complex workforce dynamics.

Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
