Registered Nurse 2 - Infusion/Oncology - Full Time
Full‑time position in the Department of Infusion/Oncology at the University of Miami/UHealth UMHC/SCCC. The role requires a registered nurse with oncology nursing experience who will provide direct patient care for chemotherapy and biotherapy treatments.
Responsibilities
Assesses assigned patients and evaluates plans, documenting nursing care.
Reports symptoms, changes in patients’ condition, and vital signs.
Modifies patient treatment plans as indicated by patients’ responses, conditions, and physician orders.
Reviews, evaluates, and reports diagnostic tests to assess patient condition.
Consults with physicians and other healthcare professionals to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
Prepares patients for and assists with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
Considers patient age and culture during treatments and provides necessary information regarding the treatment plan.
Provides psychological support, fostering a compassionate environment.
Performs appropriate patient tests and safely administers medications within the scope of practice.
Maintains accurate records related to medications and treatments in compliance with regulatory bodies, policies, and physician orders.
Communicates plan of care in a timely manner to patients, families, and team members, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines (e.g., HIPAA).
Employs best practices for transition of patient care.
Utilizes available resources to assist in discharge planning.
Plans, prioritizes, and adjusts assignments to accomplish goals and render superior patient care; seeks assistance when needed and adapts to changing work demands and environment.
Operates appropriate medical equipment.
Adheres to University and unit‑level policies, procedures, and safeguards University assets.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
Current/valid Florida nursing license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) & Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Administration Guidelines provider course.
Oncology certification preferred.
Three years of recent oncology nursing experience.
Recent experience in administering chemotherapy and biotherapy agents.
