We are seeking a Transportation Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience to join our transportation team in one of our Mid‑Atlantic office locations (Towson, MD; Rockville, MD; Mechanicsburg, PA; or Herndon, VA). Selected candidates may work from any of these offices and are also asked to support projects in other AMT offices.
Qualifications
BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution (required)
Minimum 3 years of experience preparing roadway, highway, and traffic control plans
Engineering‑in‑Training (EIT/FE) preferred
Experience with MicroStation Open Roads Designer or AutoCAD Civil 3D
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with co‑workers, project managers, supervisors, and other team members
Responsibilities
Support a variety of projects, including data collection, existing condition and alternative analysis, and preparation of engineering reports
Develop horizontal and vertical alignments
Perform cross‑section and superelevation design, roadside barrier design, ADA curb ramp design, roadway modelling
Provide design support for erosion and sediment control plans, stormwater management plans, right‑of‑way plans, utility relocation plans, permit application drawings, and traffic‑related plans
