Location and Flexibility The position is based in Towson, Maryland or Rockville, Maryland. This full‑time role offers 2–3 days per week of remote work, as agreed with the Transportation Group Leader.
Qualifications
Professional Engineer (PE) in Maryland, Virginia, or Washington DC (required)
8–12 years of experience in roadway, highway, and traffic control plan preparation, including past project management experience
Proficiency with MicroStation/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong time‑management skills and ability to balance multiple projects
Ability to identify and resolve project risks and design challenges
Enjoy building and motivating teams
Responsibilities
Lead multi‑discipline teams to deliver transportation design projects, focusing on multi‑modal roadway projects
Serve as liaison between client and project team, including external stakeholder agencies
Manage all technical resources on the project team, including subconsultants
Prepare task proposals and establish project pricing and budgets
Develop project management plans and prepare monthly progress reports
Maintain project schedules
Lead or participate in client meetings and presentations
Provide quality‑control reviews of submittals and deliverables
Mentor and train junior staff
Assist with production tasks (CADD drawings, reports, graphics/renderings, etc.)
Assist Group Leader and Division Directors with business development and proposals
Maintain positive working relationships with co‑workers, project managers, supervisors, and other team members
