Senior Business Insights Analyst – Operational Capacity Forecasting . This role drives informed decision‑making across Operations by providing analytical solutions to operational leaders, supporting staffing, demand, production, and service delivery planning.
Role Summary As part of the Business Insights team, you will develop forecasting models, analyze data for capacity planning, build dashboards, conduct scenario planning, and communicate insights to stakeholders. You will also mentor junior analysts and ensure governance and integrity of data.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and refine forecasting models to predict operational capacity needs across multiple functions.
Analyze historical and real‑time data to identify patterns, trends, and gaps that impact capacity planning.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Operations, HR, Finance) to gather data inputs and align forecasting assumptions.
Build dashboards, reporting tools, and self‑service solutions to communicate capacity forecasts, risks, and recommendations.
Conduct scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to model the impact of business changes.
Monitor forecast accuracy and improve model performance through back‑testing and refinement.
Translate complex data into actionable storylines that drive results and shape business strategy.
Educate stakeholders on forecasts and trends, building strong relationships across the organization.
Support analysts in drawing connections across Enterprise initiatives.
Lead onboarding, upskilling, and team projects.
Adhere to internal controls, governance, and ensure team compliance.
Help develop future‑state data needs.
Minimum Qualifications
12 years of combined post‑secondary education and relevant experience, or:
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Economics, Math, Finance, Data Analytics, Data Science, etc.) plus ≥8 years relevant work experience, or
Advanced degree plus ≥5 years relevant work experience, or
12+ years equivalent total experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Strong understanding of database structures and data blending.
Proficiency in Tableau and Alteryx; SQL experience is helpful.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or relevant certifications in a quantitative field.
Experience applying predictive analytics to real‑life business problems.
Analytics experience within the insurance or financial services industry.

Base Pay Range
USD 97,500 – 143,000 (salary based on experience, education, and market factors).
Additional Compensation and Benefits
Full range of medical, financial, and other benefits (including 401(k), paid time off, vacation, sick time, parental leave).
Eligibility for National Life’s discretionary annual incentive programs.
Employment is at‑will; National Life reserves the right to modify base salary and other compensation.
Working Arrangement This position requires onsite presence four (4) days per week during core days (Mon–Thu). Core days and schedule may change with advance notice.
