BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY: The BI Technical Lead will build data frameworks and design the business intelligence data architecture across the enterprise. This role will guide architectural principles and standards around information delivery and data integrations. The BI technical lead will also lead the business intelligence development group and build a strong foundation for data accessibility. Additionally, this role will drive the business intelligence platform roadmap and enhancements to enable services and features for our significant user base on our BI platforms. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Owns business intelligence solution architecture, design, development, and implementation. Provides technical leadership and guidance to BI Developers, including implementation and design frameworks and patterns to deliver data quickly. Performs metadata modeling and develops complex integrated data sets from disparate data sources with expert utilization of SQL or BI platforms. Builds and maintains schema objects and abstraction layers on top of various, changing enterprise data assets. Interprets and assists in designing normalized and dimensional data modeling as well as experience implementing metadata solutions and bi-temporal data models. Manages and prioritizes workload of BI Developers by coordinating incoming work assignments with appropriate associates to deliver on overall design. Enables BI platform features and enhancements specific to our end user needs on the business intelligence platforms. Collaborates with business intelligence vendors on future upgrades and enhancement requests to enable the BI platform services. Collaborates with business users to define requirements and reporting specifications and provide technical report assistance. Automates processes and frameworks with a focus on reuse and speed to deliver new data insights. Creates and maintains all documentation regarding Sales Operations procedures and policies. Communicates any process or policy changes to field sales organization including attendance on district conference calls to train associates. Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSCs vision and unity of purpose. Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS What You Need:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Analysis or a related study. Minimum 7 years of experience working with high volume data infrastructure with exposure to database design/structures, Data Modelling, ETL/ELT design patterns, and datamart structures (star, data schemas, etc.) Minimum 5 years of experience integrating data into overall business intelligence models and semantic models. Minimum 5 years designing overall business intelligence data architecture and delivering on data integration into the overall BI models. Minimum 4 years of experience leading BI developers and implementing overall data design. Minimum 4 years managing BI platforms (Looker, Tableau, Alteryx) defining a feature roadmap for these services. Bonus Points If You Have: Experience with Looker and Look ML, Alteryx, Tableau business intelligence platforms. Experience managing overall data architecture in Erwin. Advanced SQL knowledge and experience implementing optimized design for performant BI. Strong knowledge of software development processes and procedures for agile development. Expertise in data integration into semantic reporting models from multiple source systems. Experience with BigQuery and the Google data platform. Other Requirements:
A valid drivers license may be required. Position may require up to 10% of travel. This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (ITAR) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). Compensation starting at $93,590 - $147,070 depending on experience. The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidates relevant experience, education requirements, and peer pay equity.
