Under the direction of the System Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Control, the successful candidate will assist in developing, implementing, and overseeing the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) and Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP) policies and procedures, collaborating with health system and hospital leadership and relevant stakeholders. The Medical Director is responsible for ensuring quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and performance excellence. Roles and Responsibilities

Serve as the Associate Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Antimicrobial Stewardship for Henry Ford Health. Improve and reduce hospital-acquired infection (HAI) rates. Provide subject matter expertise in IPC, healthcare epidemiology, and antimicrobial stewardship. Optimize utilization of diagnostic testing and antimicrobials, and implement process improvements. Develop and enforce IPC and ASP policies, focusing on reducing multi-drug resistant organisms (MDROs), outbreak response, and management of special pathogens. Interpret epidemiologic and antimicrobial use data; enhance data infrastructure and reporting in compliance with NHSN, CMS, and internal metrics. Coordinate multidisciplinary initiatives and participate in committees. Educate and mentor staff. Skills and Competencies

Leadership in IPC and ASP initiatives. Strong team collaboration and leadership skills. Proficiency in using metrics for program management. Mentoring abilities for staff and medical personnel. Knowledge of quality improvement methods. Effective communication skills for policies and reports. Self-directed with initiative and maturity. Experience with databases, clinical systems, and epidemiologic analysis, including NHSN data submission and extraction. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Qualifications

M.D. or equivalent from an LCME-accredited medical school. Completion of Internal Medicine residency and Infectious Diseases fellowship (ACGME-accredited). Eligible for Michigan medical licensure. Board-certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease. Leadership experience, including clinical mentoring. At least 2 years of experience in ASP and/or IPC, with strong knowledge of infectious diseases and data analysis. Effective project management skills in a matrixed organization. Excellent communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences. Ability to foster physician relationships and manage interdisciplinary teams.
