Mission Assurance Engineer 4
located in our
San Diego Rancho Carmel facility! This position is fully
on-site
(no remote or hybrid schedules). What You'll Get to Do: Define and monitor mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of responsible programs.
Support the development, implementation and maintenance of quality policy and procedures within the Quality Management System (QMS) including performing internal audits to assess conformance.
Review practices, procedures and processes seeking avenues to improve efficiency and effectiveness and reduce risk to product quality.
Interpret customer technical and MA requirements, and ensure these requirements are integrated into program plans, specifications and product drawings.
Ensure program contract requirements are flowed down internally and to suppliers.
Ensure compliance with contract program, quality, organizational, and industry alert requirements.
Provide oversight in discrepancy review and failure investigations, as well as cause and corrective action determinations. Analyze and interpret trends and execute improvements on key metrics.
Perform Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) analysis, and Problem Solving activities on program-specific, quality system and business system deficiencies.
Represent Mission Assurance at various program reviews and review boards including Configuration Control Board (CCB), Material Review Board (MRB), Program Management Reviews (PMR), Design/Peer Reviews, Manufacturing/Test Readiness Reviews and Corrective Action Board (CAB).
Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
Responsible for developing Basis of Estimates to ensure sufficient Quality oversight on key Development and Sustainment captures and programs.
Familiar with concepts like Cost of Quality, FMEA and similar measures designed to help drive improvement.
Perform statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related STEM field with a minimum of 9 years of experience in Quality, Quality Engineering, Program Management, Engineering Management or Manufacturing (7+ years of experience with a Master’s degree).
Experience with inspection methods, production control, manufacturing operations, product test & evaluation, reliability, root cause analysis, defect analysis, control of nonconforming material, product sell off, shipping and product support as they apply to quality.
U.S. citizenship.
Ability to obtain and maintain Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.
Experience with ISO 9001 / AS9100 Quality Management System certification process.
Preferred Qualifications: BS Degree in an engineering discipline with Master’s degree in an engineering or management field.
Defense Industry experience as a Program or Project Manager, Quality Manager, Engineering Manager or Manufacturing Management.
Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification to help drive continuous improvement.
CAM/Earned Value certification.
Current, active Secret Clearance, or higher or ability to acquire a Department of Defense Top Secret clearance.

$137,400 - $206,000 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
