Genwest Systems Inc., an equal opportunity employer, is currently accepting applications for a full time System Administration support position for our clients at the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Office of Response and Restoration (OR&R) and will be based from NOAA offices at the Western Regional Center in Seattle, WA.
POSITION DUTIES:
SysAdmin support for AWS based data management and mapping applications
SysAdmin support for IT Security documentation, baseline documentation and administration, change management, etc.
Scanning, tracking and remediation of CVEs, Binding Operational Directives, and other identified vulnerabilities as required
Assessment activities, penetration testing, POAMs (Plan of Action and Milestones remediation plans for issues) tracking and implementation
Execute needed daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance on servers
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate the listed qualifications through their application and in any scheduled interview.
Required Qualifications:
Command line experience in Linux system administration for RedHat
AWS Cloud experience such as creating systems, fixing boot failures, subnetting
Familiarity with VMWare environments
Experience complying with standards such as NIST, DISA STIGS
Proven ability to provide technical assistance to developers
Ability to troubleshoot web services, TLS certificates, firewall ports
Familiarity with alerting and monitoring applications Nagios, Prometheus & Graphana
Familiarity with Ansible (or Puppet/Chef)
Knowledge of Postgres and other relational database administration and usage
Ability to manage software packages and updates
Knowledge of common AWS security issues and solutions
Monitor applications and take corrective action to prevent or minimize system outages
Familiarity with scripting in bash, python, perl, php, or similar languages
US Citizen able to pass mandatory background check before work begins
Significant recent experience in performing system administration tasks
Organized with a high attention to detail
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work on multiple projects, shifting focus based on priority
Flexibility and team-focus, experience working collaboratively with diverse groups of high-functioning staff to achieve common goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with the use of GitLab
COMPENSATION:
Compensation will be determined based on the experience and qualifications of the successful applicant in combination with contract budget. The wage range is anticipated to be $75,000 $95,000 on an annualized basis. The position is also eligible for a full-time benefit package that includes health insurance, paid personal and holiday leave, 401(k) program eligibility, and employee disability and life insurance.
