IT System Administrator

Job Summary: This is a very hands-on position where the successful candidate will co-manage the IT Infrastructure across various offices in North America and Europe. Responsibilities include administering, maintaining, and securing networks, hardware, software, databases, and information systems. The role also involves implementing new technologies to support the company's long-term operational and strategic goals. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Perform daily health checks, monitoring, and security management of internal environments including virtual hosts, application, mail, and database servers, network switches, firewalls, remote access VPN, and user accounts. Administer and maintain Domain, Exchange, SQL, and Application servers; monitor performance and implement improvements. Manage the internal help desk, triage tickets, and respond to escalated issues. Maintain up-to-date virus definitions and scan all internal devices regularly. Administer systems using Group Policy, Active Directory, and other Windows management tools. Oversee the administration of the company’s WAN, WLAN, Wi-Fi networks, and remote access solutions. Maintain and monitor on-premise and offsite backups. Support key applications and utilize proprietary tools to enhance features and usability. Manage IT onboarding procedures to ensure smooth transitions for new users. Manage projects within deadlines, providing weekly status reports. Maintain accurate records of company assets and inventory, providing bi-annual reports. Ensure all IT Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are current and accessible. Provide on-call support during after-hours, weekends, and holidays. Perform other duties as assigned. Hiring Requirements: 5+ years of experience with Windows platforms (Server and Client). 3+ years of experience with Miraki or similar networking appliances. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Hiring Preferences: Knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, LDAP. Experience with Microsoft 365 and commercial Wi-Fi networks. Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Understanding of computer network architecture, operating systems, hardware, software, and network security. Troubleshooting, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Strong technical aptitude, research skills, and independence in resolving complex issues. Effective communication, interpersonal skills, patience, and service orientation. Attention to detail, manual dexterity, mathematical skills, time management, and leadership capabilities. Knowledge of disaster recovery planning. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, bend, squat, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds. Performance Standards: Demonstrate dedication to cost-effective information processing. Enhance company productivity, efficiency, and profits through technology.
