Senior System Storage Engineer, Level 6
Location: Annapolis Junction, Maryland (all on‑site). Schedule: Day Shift, Monday‑Friday.
Mission Support the government program with extensive experience managing storage solutions, including purchases for classified computers, cloud and server environments.
Certifications None required.
Requirements
U.S. Citizenship
Active TS/SCI with polygraph
Experience as required by education level (see Education section)
Knowledge of file systems (XFS, Lustre/GPFS/CephFS, NFS, EXT4, etc.)
Experience with IOPS performance testing and ability to write/evaluate test plans
Knowledge of hardware configurations (RAID, Grid RAID, sharding, etc.)
Familiarity with storage networks (SAN, Ethernet, InfiniBand, etc.)
Knowledge of storage interfaces, tools, flash/NAND SSDs, form factors, RAID levels, M.2, SATA, PCIe NVMe, etc.
Familiarity with smart data
Ability to monitor storage network, bus and devices
Fundamental Linux command experience (listing directories, command history, etc.)
Some programming language experience (Python preferred)
Familiarity with general computing system architecture and CPU components (cache, processors, integrated memory/controllers)
Education and Required Qualification
High school diploma or GED + 24 years system engineering experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related + 20 years experience
Master’s degree in engineering or related + 18 years experience
Ph.D. in engineering or related + 18 years experience
You are responsible for
Applying systems engineering principles throughout the life‑cycle phases (concept, development, production, utilization, support, retirement) and interacting with the government on technical considerations.
Communicating with program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives to ensure technical integrity and completeness of deliverables.
Managing the 25 ISO/IEC 15288 process areas: technical, project, enterprise, and agreement processes.
Travel Less than 10% travel may occur.
