Mid-Level Distribution Engineer
Join the opportunity at POWER Engineers, a member of WSP, in Fort Lauderdale. Other locations considered: Tampa; West Palm Beach; Miami.
Responsibilities
Design and deliver overhead and underground electric distribution projects (4 kV-35 kV) acting as technical lead on medium‑complexity work packages.
Provide engineering calculations, construction packages, and field support while coordinating with project managers, drafters, and client utilities.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Required Qualifications
BSEE (or equivalent experience)
Solid understanding of OH and UG distribution design
CAD software experience
4‑10 years in distribution engineering
Strong background in both overhead (OH) and underground (UG) distribution design
Proven ability to independently handle feeder‑level OH and UG projects from scoping through Issued‑for‑Construction (IFC) with minimal oversight
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and abiding by WSP’s health, safety, drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Preferred Qualifications
EIT or PE (or progress toward)
Utility standards experience (e.g., Duke, FPL, PG&E, TECO)
