Stantec is seeking a safety‑focused leader with construction field experience to oversee field engineering and construction quality control on a mine remediation project near Spokane, Washington. This full‑time onsite role (minimum 2‑year commitment) requires daily on‑site presence, leading a team that works with the client and contractors to plan construction activities and verify that construction meets design specifications. Work shift is 4 days per week, 10‑hour shifts plus a one‑hour drive each way for a total of 48 hours per week. Role Responsibilities

Support construction planning and communicate construction plans to contractors. Identify problems, deficiencies, and design deviations, develop potential courses of action, and communicate them to the client, construction contractor, and Stantec leadership. Lead the Stantec field team, delegate tasks based on team members’ skills, and maintain clear communication and attention to detail. Create and maintain a high‑functioning safety culture, track compliance with safe work practices, and adhere to company and client guidelines and policies. Use and master field equipment, including Trimble survey equipment, portable X‑ray fluorescence spectrometer, and electronic density gauge. Contribute to construction and design solutions, as‑built construction records, and other field engineering activities using AutoCAD Civil3D and Trimble Business Center. Plan, coordinate, direct, and execute Stantec engineering and quality control field team activities and documentation, including field observations, sample collection, field testing, and daily field reports. Review and respond to technical memoranda, RFIs, and detailed as‑built reports. Supervise QA activities including sample collection, gradation analyses, material density testing, and surveying. Interact daily with client management, engineering, and field staff to plan and execute field engineering and CQA activities. Required Experience and Skills

BS in engineering or geology, associate’s degree in a relevant program with strong surveying skills, professional surveying license, or equivalent work experience. 8–12 years of field experience on environmental, civil, and/or geotechnical engineering projects, focusing on construction planning, detailed design, site investigation, and technical communication. Experience with mine remediation/reclamation related work is preferred. Exceptional technical writing, verbal communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Ability to work independently and make decisions in the field at remote sites. Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat. Knowledge of OSHA HAZWOPER and supervisor training. Part‑time employees receive benefits in accordance with state and local law. Pay Range: Locations in WA, DC & Various CA areas – Min Salary $126,400.00 – Max Salary $189,600.00.
