At Allen Edmonds,
Assistant Managers
provide support for all store activities, in partnership with the Store Manager. In this role, you will support the Sales Associate team, execute product placement, uphold in‑store visual merchandising standards and create an environment representative of our premium brand experience. We offer competitive base rates with flexible schedules, and there is the opportunity to expand your earnings with uncapped commission‑based earning in each pay period.
What You’ll Be Doing
Be a champion for team sales goals. Assist in coaching Sales Associates to ensure their sustained success and overcome obstacles. Partner with the Store Manager to develop action plans for the team to build on success.
Help develop the team’s selling & service mindset. Lead Sales Associate training and skill reinforcement in customer service standards, product knowledge and sales techniques.
Uphold visual merchandising standards. Regularly walk the sales floor with team members, using the Allen Edmonds visual merchandising guidelines to ensure standards are being met.
Lead store outreach efforts & events. Spearhead local quarterly events, including in‑store experiences, customer outreach & engagement campaigns, and event cultivation to increase store traffic and sales.
Find sales opportunities. Review sales results and store KPIs with the Store Manager to identify areas for improvement and enhance forecasting for business impact.
Other responsibilities as needed to meet the needs of the business.

Preferred Qualifications & Education
High School Diploma/GED
Some retail store management experience or relevant management experience in lieu.
Able to build constructive and effective relationships within the store.
Demonstrates an ability to set objectives and goals and organize work to meet and exceed goals.
Demonstrates an ability to lead, manage, motivate and communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
Ability to train, coach and develop associates.
Must exercise independent judgment and discretion partnering with the Store Sales Manager as needed.
Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision making, financial and quantitative analysis.
Strong working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
Ability to influence at all levels, and be assertive in driving successful management strategies.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements And/or Environment
Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time.
