Overview
The Salesforce Development Manager will lead a team of administrators, owning the design, development, and implementation of Salesforce solutions. The role ensures high‑quality code, adherence to best practices, and alignment with business goals. Responsibilities include examining business requirements, designing solutions, coordinating cross‑departmentally, and managing the Salesforce roadmap. Responsibilities
Drive and support the strategic planning and execution of VSL’s Salesforce initiatives. Design, code, and implement custom applications, workflows, and enhancements. Integrate Salesforce with other software and systems using APIs and tools. Lead and mentor a team of Salesforce administrators and contractors. Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to understand and translate business requirements. Oversee development and implementation of Salesforce applications and customizations. Manage and prioritize the Salesforce roadmap and platform initiatives. Resolve technical issues and provide guidance to the team. Provide training and documentation for users and administrators. Monitor industry trends and recommend improvements to Salesforce practices. Work with other IT departments and business units to ensure integration and alignment. Present team progress, key milestones, and blockers to stakeholders and company‑wide meetings. Qualifications
7+ years of Salesforce experience with at least 3 years of development experience. 1+ year of people management experience preferred. Deep knowledge of the Salesforce platform, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and core features. Proficiency in Apex, Visualforce, JavaScript, SOQL, and SOSL. Familiarity with the Lightning Framework for UI development. Strong debugging skills to identify and resolve issues in Salesforce code. Experience leading teams and/or projects across departments preferred. Experience with Salesforce configuration and customization. Knowledge of Salesforce best practices and design patterns. Leadership and team management skills. Remote Work
