The Director will lead academic support initiatives across the university, collaborating with academic departments and student support units. Responsibilities include managing the Academic Success Center on both Summerville and Health Science campuses, providing leadership for programs like peer tutoring and supplemental instruction, and working to improve student retention, persistence, and graduation rates. The role involves fostering cross-campus collaboration and serving as a partner within the Student Success and Enrollment divisions. The Director will also support program design and operations under the Student Success Career Academic and Professional Engagement (CAPE) model. Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Leading Student Success Initiatives Developing a comprehensive academic success program for all undergraduates, supervising related programming. Leading initiatives such as academic warning, probation, suspension interventions, and progress reports. Utilizing technology and data to inform interventions that enhance retention and graduation. Coordinating instruction for ASII Courses: 1101 (Learning for Success) and 1201 (Teaching and Learning for Peer Educators). Teaching one undergraduate course annually to stay connected with students. Designing strategies to positively impact retention and graduation metrics. Managing assessment, data collection, and compliance with policies like SACSCOC and FERPA. Innovating with new technologies to enhance student support services. Providing support for special populations such as athletes, honors students, and transfer students. Managing Academic Success Center Operations Overseeing daily operations at both campus locations, including staffing, supervision, and evaluation. Setting annual goals and coordinating semester planning for programs and services. Providing leadership in program development, staff training, and assessment. Managing budgets and resources. Staying informed about academic programs and policies. Preparing assessment reports regularly. Supervision Supervising staff including the Assistant Director, Coordinators, and support personnel. Mentoring new staff and conducting performance reviews. Fostering a positive work environment and coordinating staff schedules. Overseeing professional development for staff. Campus Collaboration Representing the department in campus events and committees. Collaborating with faculty and support units to meet shared goals. Building relationships with campus services and stakeholders. Engaging with students, faculty, and staff to promote support initiatives. Data Analysis Using student success systems to track interventions. Collaborating on technology platforms to support retention efforts. Compiling reports and assessing program effectiveness. Leading ongoing program evaluation and strategic planning. Other Duties Participating in professional development and scholarly activities. Performing additional duties as assigned to support student success and division goals. Required Qualifications

Master's degree from an accredited institution and five (5) years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications

A terminal degree, preferably in an undergraduate teaching field, with higher education experience, including managing academic support and budgets. Demonstrated collaboration skills with faculty, students, and administrators. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge:

Understanding of tutoring models, academic interventions, learning theories, retention strategies, and support technologies. Skills:

Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, social media proficiency, and detail orientation. Ability to develop relationships and foster a welcoming environment. Abilities:
