Opportunity Within EY-Parthenon's Strategy and Execution sub‑service line, our Software Strategy Group provides top‑tier investment and acquisition guidance, strategy, and transaction advisory for the software sector. Every year we help hundreds of software companies and investors make crucial business decisions. On every engagement, you will work alongside our team of former CTOs and CEOs with deep software expertise to learn from the best.
Key Responsibilities
Engage in conversations with private equity investors and tech leaders.
Conduct thorough market and competitive research using diverse sources.
Assess company strengths to advise on growth and technology strategies.
Clearly present your conclusions to both the team and clients.
Skills And Attributes for Success
Building Trusted Relationships – cultivate strong working relationships with clients and support key decision makers.
Strong Problem Solving and Storytelling – be proactive about solving problems from beginning to end (problem identification, hypothesis development, synthesis, and recommendation with a compelling narrative).
Outcomes‑driven – develop an initial perspective that translates client needs into an approach for project delivery.
Project Management – transform strategy into a detailed workplan, manage timeline, and escalate risks to manager and stakeholders as needed.
Effective Collaboration – be part of project teams comprising colleagues from across the EY-Parthenon sub‑service lines.

Qualifications To qualify for the role, you must have:
Outstanding academic performance, with a bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, engineering, computer science, or analytics and at least 1 year of related work experience; or a graduate degree and some related work experience.
Experience in client‑facing environments or technical roles in similar industries (e.g., consulting, banking, tech).
Demonstrated interest in the tech industry through startup experience, internships, coursework, extracurricular activities or research and writing on the subject.
A strong aptitude for quantitative and qualitative research and analysis.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Effective organization and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines.
The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary.
Ideally, you will have
The ability to assess complex situations and business problems to formulate potential solutions for our clients.
The confidence to establish meaningful relationships with clients and colleagues.
Knowledge of how to leverage firm‑approved AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot.

What We Offer You
A comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $100,000 to $110,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.

Join us in our team‑led and leader‑enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client‑serving roles to work together in person 40‑60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
