POSITION: Care Partner
TITLE OF IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Health and Wellbeing Director
DEPARTMENT: Resident Care
STATUS: Non-Exempt/Hourly
SUMMARY
This position will provide personal care service and engagement with residents and perform related services at the community in accordance with the plan of care assigned by the primary licensed nurse. This position reports directly to the Health and Wellbeing Director.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or GED Successful completion of a state approved nursing assistant training program preferred Current, active certification on the Georgia Nursing Assistant Registry preferred Must successfully clear a background check, TB skin test or x-ray, and health screening Current CPR certification Current certificate of training for successful completion of the five (5) hour initial fire safety training provided by the Rules and Regulations of the Georgia Safety Fire Commissioner
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides assistance with assigned personal care tasks that meet resident physical and emotional personal needs consistent with the Orchard philosophy. Assists or leads small groups in engaging one-on-one experiences with residents, including socialization and personal growth activities. Responsible for assigned resident care tasks, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulations. Resident care tasks include maintaining personal hygiene, assisting with toileting, and observing residents' conditions. Documents accurately all care given and reports to nurse or supervisor for assignments. Maintains the dignity of the resident and provides person-centered care across treatment settings.
COMPETENCIES Practices infection control and special precautions in all resident care duties. Works with integrity; upholds organizational values. Must be able to work semi-independently and have strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and policies. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations.
ORCHARD EXPECTATIONS: Adheres to all Orchard policies and procedures. Maintains absolute confidentiality of all information pertaining to residents and staff. Displays a positive and professional image in all relationships. Participates in safety programs and maintains resident and personal safety.
ADA Requirements (essential functions) Physical Requirements Lifting: More than 25 lbs routinely, more than 50 lbs occasionally. Standing: 4 - 5 hours/day. Walking: 2 - 4 hours/day. Working under pressure: 3 - 4 hours/day. Cognitive or Mental Requirements Critical thinking, reading, writing, and mathematics. Clear verbal articulation of the English language. Working Environment Indoors with possible exposure to communicable diseases. May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents.
