Senior Backend Software Engineer
to join our team based in Miami, Florida. At RBI, we understand that our franchisees, corporate, and in-store teams benefit from high-quality, real-time, actionable data and insights. We are building a Node/AWS/Snowflake stack to support our franchisee and corporate teams across brands, solving interesting technical problems while building products to empower and delight our users. As our team grows, we will continue creating innovative products and technologies to deliver digital franchisee-facing experiences that enhance operations. This is an opportunity to develop innovative tools and technologies within a small, high-impact team. Role and Responsibilities: Design and implement next-generation systems in franchisee technology and high-performance products and services. Develop and maintain software applications using modern programming languages and technologies. Enhance team processes, deployments, developer experience, and code standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Stay updated on technologies that can improve developer and guest experiences. Troubleshoot, debug, and improve system performance. Conduct detailed design and code reviews. Write comprehensive tests including unit, integration, and end-to-end. Create software aligned with business and technical priorities. Qualifications: 6+ years of software engineering experience with consumer-facing products. Experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript build and packaging systems. Proficiency with Node.js, NestJS, and/or Express frameworks. Broad knowledge of database systems (relational and non-relational). Strong SQL expertise (MySQL, Postgres, SQL Server). Cloud deployment experience, preferably AWS + Terraform. Knowledge of CI/CD tools (CircleCI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions). Experience with observability tools (Datadog, New Relic, Cloudwatch). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Bachelor's degree in computer science or related fields, or relevant industry experience. Experience with Snowflake, AWS Redshift, or other data lake/warehouse technologies. Knowledge of time series database patterns and data pipelines (OLAP, ETLs).
