We are seeking a skilled Platform Engineer to support a critical infrastructure migration project from VMware to Wind River. This is a remote, long-term contract opportunity aligned with Mountain Standard Time (MST) hours. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in KubeVirt, Kubernetes, and VMware environments, with a strong background in Linux systems and containerization technologies. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with internal project teams to support the migration from VMware to Wind River. Administer and maintain KubeVirt environments within Kubernetes clusters. Conduct regular health and performance checks on virtual machines. Manage Rancher for Kubernetes orchestration, access control, and lifecycle management. Operate and maintain VMware vCenter and vSphere platforms for provisioning and management. Required Qualifications Minimum 7 years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or systems engineering. At least 3 years of hands-on experience with KubeVirt. Strong experience with VMware vSphere and vCenter. Proficiency in Linux systems engineering. Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes. Familiarity with Jira for project tracking and collaboration. Proven experience with VMware migration projects. Preferred Qualifications Background in the telecommunications industry.
