About the Client:

Our client is a global multi-strategy hedge fund with more than $10bn in assets. Founded more than 10 years ago, they have seen consistent returns and exceptional growth in assets for an extended period of time. Known for their collaborative working environment, good access to information, and competitive compensation, they are now looking to add an Equity Long/Short Portfolio Manager specialized in Healthcare to their US-centric coverage team in New York.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Portfolio Management : Oversee and manage a multi-million dollar portfolio focused on US Equity L/S Healthcare market coverage - ensuring optimal performance and alignment with the firm's investment strategies.
  • Market Analysis : Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify investment opportunities and risks within the US Healthcare sector.
  • Investment Strategy : Develop and implement investment strategies that maximize returns while managing risk.
  • Performance Monitoring : Continuously monitor portfolio performance, making adjustments as necessary to achieve investment objectives.
  • Client Relations : Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing regular updates and insights on portfolio performance and market trends.
  • Team Collaboration : Work closely with other investment professionals within the firm to share insights and strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience managing equity L/S portfolios of $50mm+ within hedge fund settings in the US.
  • Demonstrable track record of at least 2 years with a PnL exceeding $10mm.
  • Deep knowledge of the Healthcare trading sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve a Sharpe ratio of 1% or higher.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, results-oriented environment.
  • Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred.
