Our client is a global hedge fund managing over $10bn in assets. Following strong fund performance and strategic expansion, they are now seeking to grow their Financials coverage with a new Portfolio Manager group. Opportunities are available in the Tri-state area as well as Florida.
Key Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Management: Lead and manage a multi-million dollar long/short equity portfolio focused on the Financials sector, ensuring alignment with the firm's investment philosophy and performance targets.
- Sector Analysis: Conduct deep fundamental research and market analysis across banks, insurers, asset managers, fintech, and other financial institutions to identify alpha-generating opportunities.
- Strategy Development: Design and execute differentiated investment strategies within Financials, balancing risk and return across diverse market conditions.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor portfolio performance and risk metrics, making timely adjustments to maintain a Sharpe ratio of 1 or higher.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate regularly with internal stakeholders and clients, providing insights into portfolio positioning, sector trends, and performance drivers.
- Collaboration: Partner with analysts, traders, and other PMs to share ideas and enhance cross-sector investment perspectives.
- Proven track record as a Financials Equity L/S Portfolio Manager.
- Demonstrated ability to generate $10mm+ PnL managing a Financials-focused book.
- Deep expertise in U.S. and global financial markets and institutions.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation capabilities.
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
- Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline preferred.
