Primary Responsibilities
Assist in determining the suitability of donors.
Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while ensuring donor confidentiality.
Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions.
Monitor donor and equipment to ensure health of donors and quality of product.
Set up, disconnect, and operate the automated plasmapheresis machines.
Disconnect and dispose of all contaminated disposable equipment.
Occupational Demands: Work performed in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids, electrical equipment, and extreme cold below 32°F. Standing for 6–8 hours per day, bending and twisting neck and waist for 1–2 hours per day, frequent hand and foot movements, light lifting up to 15 lbs (maximum 50 lbs). Requires accurate coordination of fingers, good hearing acuity, color perception, and vision corrected to 20/30 in one eye and 20/100 in the other eye.
