About the Position The College of Business and Economics is committed to leading business education through program quality, balancing theory and practice, and expanding outreach. We inspire students and partners to transform the workforce through innovative instruction and research. The Graduate Advisor (Student Services Professional II) will provide academic advising and student support to graduate students in the College of Business and Economics (CBE). The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, ethical practices, and a commitment to inclusivity, flexibility, and integrity.

Under general supervision of the Senior Assistant Director of Graduate Business Programs and the Executive Director of Graduate Programs and Non‑Degree Programs, the Graduate Advisor:

Provides academic advising for all graduate program students, advising on prerequisites, course waivers, degree requirements, course selection, transcript evaluation, and university policy.

Advise students at risk of academic probation and coordinate student success initiatives.

Oversees processing of digital welcome packets, classifications, and graduation checks.

Obtains approvals and required signatures for petitions and documents for the CBE Graduate Program.

Coordinates special programs, retention activities, and new student orientations/seminars, including projects associated with student success.

Assists with internships and collaborates with the Study Abroad program.

Develops, updates, and trains staff on the paperless process through Salesforce.

Trains and oversees student workers, keeping training documents current.

Collaborates with Scheduling to resolve registration issues and support the Senior Assistant Director of Graduate Programs.

Provides support to the Senior Assistant Director as needed and performs additional duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in behavioral sciences, public administration, business administration, or a related field and two years of professional experience in a student services program area.

Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.

General knowledge of organizational management methods and research techniques.

Ability to interpret program rules, conduct interviews, provide advice to students individually or in groups, and manage complex situations.

Proven ability to plan, coordinate, supervise, and organize programs and activities.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and familiarity with campus procedures.
