We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Community Coordinator (Student Services Professional II). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to inclusivity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness. Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Director/Associate Director, responsible for a community of about 2,500 students of various class years. Respond on a 24‑hour basis to any emergency impacting the residential community. Recruit, select, train, oversee, and evaluate a student staff of over 48 student leaders; directly oversee and evaluate 9‑15 student leaders in creating safe and inclusive communities. Develop, communicate, and enforce policies and procedures. Provide conduct and care support, making referrals as appropriate. Lead programming and assessment initiatives for your area. Serve as residential conduct officers for minor policy violations. Responsible for summer conferences, committee work, and special areas of assignment as dictated by department needs; other duties as assigned. Essential Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in behavioral sciences, public administration, business administration, or a related field and two years of professional experience in student services or a related field. A master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience. General knowledge of organizational management, research, and interview techniques. Ability to interpret and apply program rules and regulations, obtain factual information through interviews, and advise students individually and in groups. Logical reasoning and initiative in planning work assignments and implementing long‑range program improvements. Planning, developing, coordinating, supervising, and organizing programs and activities. Interacting with a diverse student population, faculty, staff, and the public. Analytical skills to assess complex situations accurately and adopt effective courses of action. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to acquire knowledge of campus procedures and organization. Background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily; conditional offer of employment may be rescinded if disqualifying information is found. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in behavioral sciences, public administration, business administration, or a related field. Previous Housing and Residential Engagement experience. License/Certifications
A valid California driver’s license; position requires use of a state or personal vehicle for business‑related events. Special Working Conditions
