LA28 is an independent, non‑profit organising committee dedicated to delivering an Olympic and Paralympic Games that celebrates Los Angeles and the United States. The Games are the first to be hosted in the U.S. in 32 years and the third Olympic Games for the city.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish specific cleaning and waste management plans for each competition and non‑competition venue.
  • Build contingency plans for sanitation challenges, waste overflow and emergency response.
  • Integrate cleaning and waste services into overall venue operational plans.

Venue Operations Management

  • Oversee delivery of cleaning and waste services across all Games venues.
  • Manage deployment and scheduling of cleaning and waste service providers.
  • Implement real‑time monitoring systems to track waste collection, disposal efficiency and service performance.
  • Ensure rapid‑response cleaning and waste support for high‑traffic zones.
  • Support Games‑time workforce training on cleaning standards, waste policies and emergency procedures.

Stakeholder Relations

  • Define service levels, KPIs and timelines with stakeholders.
  • Partner with city agencies, venue owners and providers for integrated delivery and compliance.
  • Act as primary liaison for cleaning and waste partners during pre‑Games testing, readiness and Games‑time operations.

Sustainability & Environmental Impact

  • Align cleaning and waste strategies with LA28 sustainability and legacy goals.
  • Champion waste reduction, recycling, composting and circular economy initiatives.
  • Minimise single‑use materials, support reuse models and responsible end‑of‑life disposal.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations.

Games‑time Leadership

  • Lead the venue cleaning and waste command during Games‑time operations.
  • Monitor, report and troubleshoot performance metrics during Games‑time.
  • Guarantee operational continuity and rapid issue resolution throughout all delivery phases.

Background & Requirements

  • 7+ years managing large‑scale cleaning and/or waste operations in sports, events or venues.
  • Proven experience leading cross‑functional teams and managing external vendors under high‑pressure.
  • Experience with Olympic, Paralympic or other major event operations preferred.
  • Knowledge of LA/surrounding venues desired.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Experience delivering cleaning and waste programmes for Olympic/Paralympic or large‑scale events preferred.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Work onsite in Los Angeles, CA.
  • Primary office environment with extended computer use.
  • Open‑plan office; efficiency required in a shared cubicle.

The annual base salary range for this position is $105,000.00–$140,000.00, subject to final determination based on candidate qualifications and experience.
