MedStar Health is looking for an MRI Technologist to join our team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center!
Primary Duties
Conduct patient interviews to identify contraindicated implants, foreign bodies, and other medical conditions on concern. Identify and perform appropriate examinations based on patient history.
Verify prescription and protocol. Use appropriate imaging parameters. Inject contrast based on patient weight after verifying the patient’s renal function status. Verify image quality prior to ending the examination.
Appropriately document examination. Verify the examinations are correct in Cerner, PACS, PenRad, and DynaCAD (when applicable). Assist in organizing and maintaining inventory of supplies. Ensure the work area is maintained at a high state of cleanliness.
Promptly prepare films and CDs upon request. Assist with protocol development and implementation. Assist with the training of new personnel and Radiology School students regarding procedures, imaging protocols, and department policy.
Collect quality control data for managers, such as film usage, equipment problems, etc. Complete all required information system functions to assure proper patient information, billing, examination, and other necessary functions.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree or one to three years, with formal training in an American Medical Association accredited school of Radiologic Technology/Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Job‑related experience or successful completion of a formal MRI educational training program. This will be waived for MedStar Washington Hospital Center Radiology School students that have rotated to MRI.
ARRT or ARMRIT credential within 1 year.
BLS (Basic Life Support).
Schedule Every Saturday and Sunday 7:00 pm – 7:30 am.
Compensation USD $39.25 – $64.71 per hour.
