A LMM Buyout Private Equity firm focused on Industrials and Business Services investments is looking to add on an Associate to their team come Summer 2026. The firm has been aroud for nearly a decade and currently has a little over $1 Billion in AUM. The position is a career track style role and gives junior investors on the team a chance to develop a broad set of skills, including being operationally involved the organizations portfolio companies. The ideal candidate for this role would have 2+ years of experience in banking at the start of this role and a desire to live in Richmond, VA. Responsibilities
Conduct detailed financial analysis and build complex models to evaluate investment opportunities. Perform due diligence on potential acquisitions, including market research, industry analysis, and operational assessments. Prepare investment committee materials, including presentations and written recommendations. Support deal execution, including coordinating with legal, accounting, and other advisors. Monitor portfolio company performance and assist in strategic initiatives to drive growth and value creation. Collaborate with senior team members on sourcing new investment opportunities and maintaining industry relationships. Stay informed on market trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging sectors relevant to the firm's investment strategy. Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. 2-3 years of experience in investment banking covering M&A related transactions (ideally industrials, business services, or a generalist mandate) Strong financial modeling and valuation skills, including proficiency in Excel. Solid understanding of financial statements and key performance metrics. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing investment memos and presenting to senior stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. High attention to detail and a proactive, self-starter mindset.
