Join Amtrak as a Lead Quality Assurance Analyst and help improve project delivery, financial stewardship, and the safety of our passengers and employees. This role supports compliance with capital delivery policies, analyzes work processes, and identifies improvement actions across all management levels.
Job Summary This position is responsible for analyzing work processes and systems, improving project outcomes, maintaining effective reporting, and promoting financial stewardship across Amtrak’s capital delivery portfolio.
Essential Functions
Prepare audit/compliance plans with sampling and test design.
Conduct audits, performance reviews, and surveys to ensure compliance with policies.
Identify and recommend improvement opportunities across management levels.
Support development and monitoring of corrective action scopes.
Conduct process mapping, quality checks, and audits to support data initiatives.
Apply disciplined quality management to construction projects.
Track and implement corrective/preventive actions.
Deliver training on quality assurance and process improvement.
Perform any other tasks to support quality assurance of capital delivery practices.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum six (6) years of relevant experience in quality control or assurance and a Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering, or 10 years’ experience without a degree.
Valid driver’s license or ability to use alternative transportation.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Lean Six Sigma or process improvement training, certification, and/or experience.
Experience with statistical analysis tools (Excel, SPSS, EngineRoom).
Familiarity with project management methods, techniques, standards, and best practices.
Experience drafting technical documents such as standard practices and technical specifications.
Ability to clearly organize and present reports and technical information.
Experience developing and delivering training.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
Plus eight years of relevant work experience.
ASQ or Six Sigma certification.
Proficient in applied statistics and design of experiments.
Familiarity with Primavera P6/SAP and other project management systems.
Construction industry experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficiency in implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes for construction projects.
Ability to develop audit plans and assess adherence to project management policies.
Track record of identifying gaps and improvement opportunities in project execution.
Strong understanding of project management principles and scheduling.
Skilled in data integrity checks and generating performance reports.
Experience developing training programs for quality assurance practices.
Excellent oral and written communication to collaborate across teams.
Critical thinking, problem‑solving, and decision‑making to address project challenges.
Technical knowledge of construction processes and industry standards.
Leadership ability to mentor quality assurance professionals.
Compensation and Benefits Salary range:
$94,300.00 – $122,256.00 . Amtrak offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, 401(k) with employer match, life insurance, paid time off, and more.
Relocation: No. Travel up to 25% of the time.
