The Mechanical Engineer, Structures will play a critical role in driving our mission to make data universally available, secure and actionable anywhere on the planet. The ideal candidate has prior experience working on a
spacecraft engineering team
with a passion for designing and manufacturing satellite structures. This position will report to the VP, Satellite Platform and will work closely with the broader engineering team.
This position requires at least 3 solid years (non-academic) of satellite experience.
This role is based in our Los Gatos, CA office. What you will do
Work closely with the satellite sub-system teams to
design satellite structures and mechanisms Be a CAD modeling expert (SolidWorks) managing your CAD assemblies and drawings Develop build documents and drawings for your hardware Define, build and test your designs from 3D printed engineering units to flight hardware Support the fabrication assembly and testing of our flight build Why you’re the right candidate
You have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Aerospace or equivalent
real-world design and build experience You have at least 5 years of hands-on experience using your CAD skills to develop and build models and drawings You have successfully implemented your design solutions in a complex space You have experience with mechanical design to survive extreme environments and challenging mass constraints $65,000 - $175,000 a year The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position in question, which is based on market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change.
