Overview
Registered Nurse (RN) Neurosciences ICU, Georgetown University Hospital Center at MedStar Health. The Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit is an adult 24-bed unit; Georgetown is a Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center. Clinical Nurses provide expert care for critically ill patients with stroke (hemorrhagic/ischemic), subarachnoid hemorrhage, subdural hematoma, complex spine and brain surgeries. Other neurological diagnoses include meningitis, Guillain–Barré syndrome, and viral, infectious, or autoimmune processes. The department has been awarded the Beacon Award for Nursing Excellence and the Nurse-Family Collaboration Award by the AACN. Key Responsibilities
Deliver proficient nursing care to patients and families with a range of needs from uncomplicated to highly complex. Identify current and potential complex problems of specific patient populations; critically analyze trends and changes in patient status and plan appropriate interventions directly or indirectly through other nurses. ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required. Minimum of two years of critical care experience preferred. Active DC RN License and Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers required. Job Details
