Director, Clinical Services (DCS)
Overview The Director, Clinical Services (DCS) serves as a strategic driver of clinical excellence for DaVita Kidney Care. This role empowers Clinical Services teams by elevating accountability for safety response/readiness, developing talent through coaching, leading clinical outlier support initiatives across the division, and shaping the clinical strategy in partnership with divisional leaders. It ensures alignment on quality improvement plans, regulatory compliance, strategic execution of clinical initiatives, and measurable outcomes in quality, safety, and patient care.
Location Houston, Texas
Responsibilities
Drive accountability with Clinical Services Managers to their core safety responsibilities and ensure timely completion of Safety Snapshots.
Provide on‑site support for large safety issues or Immediate Jeopard surveys (CMS + CLUE).
Drive accountability with the MCS team to performance outcomes and coach MCS when performance or relationship challenges arise.
Drive prioritized process execution for opportunity areas in partnership with Operations & Home leaders, resource priorities by largest value to clinical excellence, and rally the MCS team across the division to advance clinical outcomes and safety.
Collaborate with Operations leaders to drive accountability where appropriate.
Lead Division’s clinical landscape and strategic alignment on outcomes, quality, and safety in partnership with the DVP.
Execute rollout of clinical initiatives/action plans and ensure accountability and measurable outcomes.
Travel regionally up to 50% of the time; be available for evening and weekend work as needed; present onsite in facilities 2‑3 days per week.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field.
Minimum of 8–10 years of clinical experience, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality improvement processes.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Preferred
Master’s degree in nursing, healthcare administration, or a related field.
Experience in dialysis or nephrology.
Certification in healthcare quality or patient safety.
Experience managing remote teammates.
