INTENSIVE BEHAVIOR SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL, 40 Hrs per week, (Garden City, NY)

40 hours per week Mon - Fri, 7:30 am – 3:30 pm
Pay range is $21.50-23.11 per hour based on years of experience in field.
Position is based in Garden City, NY with travel to and assistance at our other programs in Queens and Long Island required.
Qualifications
Minimum two years’ experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of OPWDD regulations.
High School Diploma required.
Current SCIP Certification required.
Valid NYS driver’s license required.
Responsibilities Include
Serves as a role model in the implementation of complex behavior support plans.
Demonstrates competency in crisis prevention strategies, ABC data collection methods, and positive reinforcement principles.
Offers new employee training and guidance specific to behavioral interventions as requested.
Possesses an in‑depth knowledge of treatment plans, and offers feedback to the Behavior Intervention Specialist regarding enhancement modifications.
Functions as a role model for staff by demonstrating positive and supportive interactions with the individual’s we support.
Flexibility with work schedule to include hours and location.
Assumes a proactive, team oriented role during a crisis situation when implementing behavioral intervention strategies.
Assists the Management team in managing crisis situations that may involve the police, emergency services, psychiatric hospital admissions, etc.
Ensures proper safety protocols are followed when physical interventions are implemented.
