Pay Range $53,764.00/yr – $68,630.00/yr
Standard Duties Under the direction of a Senior Boiler Inspector within the Division of Safety & Health, the incumbent will make scheduled regulatory safety inspections of high/low pressure boilers and boiler installations to ensure their safe operating condition and to enforce compliance with statutory provisions of the Labor Law and industrial rules relating to boiler operations. Inspections may be conducted as a result of complaints or accidents. Inspections may require climbing through small openings and climbing on top of boilers.
Telecommuting is available and can be discussed during the interview.
Preferred Qualifications Ability to initiate and maintain relationships across a diverse set of stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
Four years of commercial, residential, or military experience in boiler making, boiler installation or inspection, or in the operation and maintenance of high and/or low pressure boilers including all firing apparatus and control devices.
Associate degree in engineering technology, marine engineering, mechanical engineering, or mechanical technology and two years of commercial, residential, or military experience in boiler making, boiler installation or inspection, or in the operation and maintenance of high and/or low pressure boilers including all firing apparatus and control devices.
Valid motor vehicle license in New York State and ability to meet transportation needs of the position.
Compliance with the anti-fraud statement, background check, and medical examination.
