Position Overview The
Store Manager
is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and performance of the Compare Foods supermarket. This role ensures excellence in operations, merchandising, customer service, team development, and financial results — while upholding the company’s mission of providing a welcoming shopping experience for every community we serve.
The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with strong communication skills, proven retail management experience, and a deep understanding of multicultural grocery environments.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Operations
Oversee daily store operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and performance standards.
Lead, coach, and motivate department managers and team members to achieve sales, profit, and service goals.
Monitor KPIs (sales, margins, shrink, labor, productivity) and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Ensure that all areas of the store — sales floor, backroom, and receiving — are clean, organized, and compliant with safety and sanitation standards.
Manage cash control, daily reconciliations, and adherence to accounting policies.
Customer Experience
Promote a culture of excellent customer service throughout the store.
Resolve customer concerns with professionalism and urgency.
Ensure the store reflects Compare Foods’ commitment to quality, freshness, and community engagement.
Merchandising & Marketing
Oversee proper execution of weekly ads, in-store promotions, and product displays.
Maintain pricing integrity and ensure compliance with planograms and merchandising standards.
Collaborate with the marketing team on community events, sponsorships, and store-level promotions.
People Development
Recruit, hire, and train team members in alignment with Aurora Grocery Group’s values.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching for professional growth.
Foster a positive and respectful work environment that encourages teamwork and accountability.
Financial Management
Analyze financial reports and manage controllable expenses to achieve budget goals.
Ensure accurate payroll, scheduling, and labor management.
Develop and execute action plans to improve profitability and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of retail management experience, preferably in grocery or supermarket operations.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proven ability to manage P&L, budgets, and operational performance metrics.
Excellent customer service and problem‑solving abilities.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in Business or Retail Management preferred.
Work Environment
Fast‑paced retail setting with constant customer and team interaction.
Standing and walking for extended periods; occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
Requires flexibility to adapt to operational needs across multiple store locations.
