JOB SUMMARY The Health System Planning department plays a leading role in the development and expansion of UT Southwestern healthcare programs and facilities through a blend of strategic, financial, and operational planning/analysis.

In the Director role, you will work as an individual contributor under minimal supervision to lead cross-functional teams by authoring strategic, financial, and operational plans that have an organizational impact on targeted programs/service lines and their long-term success, typically juggling several projects concurrently in an accountable and/or responsible role. In addition, you will have the opportunity to partner with key physician and administrative leaders to create a tangible impact on the Dallas‑Fort Worth healthcare landscape.

This is a hybrid role working 2-3 days a week in the office environment (Tuesdays and Thursday are highly preferred).

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required

Education Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field

Experience 8 years of progressively responsible, related experience to include at least two (2) years in a leadership capacity. An equivalent combination of education and/or directly related experience may be considered in lieu of stated requirements.

Financial Modeling

Experience independently developing financial models to forecast volume, payor mix, charges, reimbursement, operating expenses, capital investment, and return on investment (IRR, NPV, payback period, breakeven).

Operational Modeling

Experience independently developing operational models to forecast resource requirements (i.e., workforce, equipment, facility, etc) and capacity utilization (i.e., productivity, midnight census, clinic, OR block, etc).

Consulting

Experience providing data‑driven advisory services to physician and administrative leaders in an academic medical center setting.

Market Intelligence

Subject matter expertise with market claims data and industry best‑practice research (i.e., DFWHC, THCIC, Advisory Board, Sg2).

Data Analysis

Experience extracting, cleaning, and analyzing large financial and operational datasets from the enterprise data warehouse with minimal direct support from the finance or decision support organizations.

Preferred

Education Master's Degree in a related field

JOB DUTIES

Leads the planning process (i.e., strategic, financial, operational plans and analyses) in support of targeted programs and service lines.

Collaborates with cross‑functional teams to develop plans that have an organizational impact on targeted programs and services lines and their long‑term success.

Partners with colleagues, senior leaders, and other stakeholders to support the execution and implementation of plans.

Partners with analytics team to develop automated dashboards that track key performance indicators from plans and provide regular status reports to leadership.

Responsible for review, development, recommendation, and implementation related to assigned activities, programs, and functions.

Responsible for the utilization of various resources to maintain maximum efficiency and meet performance objectives.

Responsible for the design, execution, and effectiveness of a system of internal controls, which provides reasonable assurance that operations are efficient, assets are safeguarded, and recommendations are reliable.

Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Maintains confidentiality as appropriate.

Performs other duties as assigned.
