Cyber SDC- Purview and Defender for Office Operations Lead Eng - Senior - Consulting - Location Open
We are seeking a skilled Cybersecurity operations professional with expertise in Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Defender for Office, and eShare. The ideal candidate will administer, troubleshoot, and continuously improve these platforms while working with cross‑functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Administration
Administer Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Defender for Office, and eShare, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
Configure and manage security settings, policies, and policy exceptions.
Follow change‑management lifecycle; test in DEV and QA, document changes in ServiceNow.
User Support
Respond to user incident tickets, resolving per SLA.
Troubleshoot and root‑cause user issues, implementing configuration changes and escalating as needed.
Create and maintain support documentation (KB articles, SharePoint materials).
Collaboration & Communication
Work with supporting IT, security and email teams to integrate Purview, Defender and eShare with existing systems.
Communicate operational status, escalations, blockers, and improvement recommendations to stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement
Monitor data classification usage and DLP policy hits; report findings.
Stay updated on latest features and best practices; identify automation opportunities.
Automate repetitive tasks via PowerShell, Python, Tines and PowerAutomate.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate SOPs and configurations.
Generate reports on workstream performance and metrics.
Keep an updated project plan and report to stakeholders.
Team Leadership
Work with an international team across time zones.
Assign tasks, track completion, provide technical support as SMR.
Escalate issues to EY leadership as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
3+ years of experience managing and supporting security and compliance solutions in Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Defender for Office.
Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Python) and automation (Tines, PowerAutomate).
Ticket and change management experience in ServiceNow.
Experience leading an international team across time zones.
Preferred Skills
Experience with eShare technologies.
Dashboarding and metrics experience (Excel, PowerBI, Splunk).
Experience maintaining multiple security tenants (GCCH and commercial).
Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals; Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate; CISSP; CIPT).
Work Environment This role may require occasional after‑hours support and on‑call availability. The engineer will work in a collaborative team environment to enhance the organization’s security and compliance posture.
