Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Vice President of Branch Operations is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of WORLDPAC’s network of more than 300 branch warehouse locations across North America and Puerto Rico. Branches are each committed to a variety of key performance indicators (“KPIs”) focusing on safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics. The Vice President partners closely with other functional leaders and executives (e.g., Sales, DC Operations, Transportation, Inventory Management, Purchasing/Merchandising) and engages with all levels of the organization, including the CEO, executive leadership team, hourly branch and warehouse associates, drivers, and contractors. The preferred candidate possesses strong expertise in managing and transforming wholesale distribution and “last‑mile” fulfillment operations, and exceptional people‑leadership skills. Travel to branch locations, distribution centers, and other company facilities is expected.

Key Priorities / Responsibilities

Oversee receipt, stocking, and inventory management of inbound product for the branch warehouses, picking of products for customer orders, and staffing of routes to deliver orders, including Will‑Call and parcel shipments.

Manage and execute a delivery network making over 45,000 stops each day, delivering items in a time‑sensitive, highly competitive environment.

Process reverse logistics and returned products in accordance with warranty and defect policies.

Lead a team of 6 Senior Directors covering approximately 60 branches each, supervised by Regional Managers and Branch Managers, with an enterprise workforce of more than 6,000.

Apply data‑driven, Lean/Continuous Improvement principles to optimize processes, systems, and personnel.

Provide leadership across inventory, fulfillment, returns, transportation, safety, compliance, and personnel, standardizing processes and monitoring performance.

Establish standards and best practices for fraud prevention and return reduction.

Strategically plan, manage, and review capital and operating budgets to achieve EBITDA and profitability.

Track and report operational KPIs, create branch and team goals with leadership.

Direct last‑mile delivery strategy, including enterprise routing software and IT solutions.

Lead process optimisation and Lean/CI initiatives.

Prepare network for growth by developing talent, systems, and tools for new branches.

Redesign branch layouts and processes to improve coverage, efficiencies, safety.

Mentor and coach teams for high performance; provide training and real‑time feedback.

Promote continuous improvement culture.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Professional Qualifications

15–20 years of leadership experience in large, geographically dispersed “final‑mile” wholesale/retail distribution or branch‑related operations.

Proven expertise in inventory management, routing solutions, and automation upgrades.

Strong financial and business acumen, with experience managing ~$150M–$200M annual budgets.

Domain knowledge in Lean/CI, with experience deploying standard work, 8D, 5‑Why, etc.

Track record of implementing system of standard work across distributed locations.

Ability to build and sustain high‑performing teams and KPI attainment.

Data‑driven analytical skills for large data synthesis and actionable insight.

Excellent people‑leadership and coaching experience.

Strong IT proficiency with routing/logistics software tools.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a technical, operational, or engineering field (e.g., supply chain, logistics, math/statistics, economics).

Graduate or advanced degree (business, logistics, supply chain, engineering) desirable.

Posted Salary Range USD $184,000.00 – USD $245,000.00 per year.
