Senior Civil Engineer – Energy & Industrial Group Join to apply for the Senior Civil Engineer – Energy & Industrial Group role at Sargent & Lundy.

Responsibilities

Utilize and expand civil engineering expertise in the design, modification, and analysis of power plants, substations, transmission lines, and similar industrial systems.

Work on a wide range of power plant projects and perform civil site development work, including preparing calculations, designs, and specifications.

Coordinate with project managers, client personnel, contractors, suppliers, and permitting agency personnel to ensure a complete and timely design.

Guide other civil engineers and designers in completing civil engineering project work, depending on scope and complexity.

Prepare calculations for storm water drainage, sanitary sewer systems, pavement thickness, ponds, landfills, and earthwork to support permitting and design.

Prepare technical specifications to define construction requirements.

Prepare site layout, grading, and drainage designs, and work with designers to accurately portray designs in 3‑D models and design drawings.

Design storm drainage systems, roads, trackwork, water storage and wastewater disposal ponds, and solid waste landfills.

Review contractor and material submittal drawings and other vendor documentation for conformity with technical specifications.

Travel to client offices for design reviews, site location planning, construction coordination, and field verification of designs.

Qualifications

BSCE from an ABET‑approved program.

PE license or ability to earn a PE license.

Five or more years of experience in a project team environment designing industrial projects, preferably power plants, with specific experience in site grading, mass earthwork, storm water management, sanitary sewage systems, process wastewater systems, and road/railroad track design.

Experience in technical writing for reports, calculations, and specifications.

Experience preparing, submitting, and obtaining site‑related permits from regulatory agencies.

Proficiency with Civil 3D, StormCad, PondPack, and AutoTurn.

Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Occasional travel required.

Work Arrangement Hybrid schedule: in‑office work 3 days per week. Occasional client travel.

Location Tampa, FL.

Compensation $82,380.00 – $125,860.00 per year, plus applicable bonus opportunities.
