The Work The RMS team in Manassas is looking for its next Systems Engineering Lead on the Integrated Common Processor (ICP) program. The ICP program provides a common Integrated Undersea Surveillance Systems (IUSS) signal processing and display system software and hardware suite for the US Navy. Work with our team as we develop and deliver new capabilities to our Navy customer.
As the Systems Engineering Lead you will:
Oversee all Systems Engineering activities on the program (ensuring the proper execution of the processes and defining the forward vision for the program)
Lead the team in the adoption and implementation of DevSecOps capabilities and a transition into Model Based Systems Engineering
Manage the requirements baseline and the application of requirements to multiple software configurations
Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the program’s Systems Engineering activities
Interact with LM Engineering Project Managers (EPMs) and the Navy Chief engineer to prepare and present Production Content Review (PCR) milestone packages for each ICP project; own responsibility to complete all PCR actions
Guide the engineering team to successful design, implementation, and sell-off of new capabilities being continuously delivered to the customer
Review and provide guidance to product design (software and/or hardware) ensuring compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and additional specifications as required
Have a complete understanding and grasp on a wide application of technical systems engineering principles, theories, and concepts
Work independently to develop inventive, thorough, practical, and consistent technical solutions to a wide range of challenging problems
Collaborate consistently with ICP Integration Lead, ICP Test lead, ICP EPM and Chief Engineer to facilitate cross training of SEI&T team members
Innovate to execute tasking and produce products more efficiently and with a higher degree of quality
Oversee the development of system operation training (new systems and new capabilities) for Fleet Operators
This position also requires an enhanced security review in accordance with Government contract requirements and it is a condition of employment
Travel for this role is expected to meet customer needs
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in STEM field with 9 years of professional experience in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
SME experience with system data modeling – SysML/UML – MBSE with ability to drive program adoption and implementation
Proven leadership with strong customer interface skills
Experience with system analysis, requirements decomposition, requirements verification, and requirements management
Experience with Testing processes – Test Method definition and Test Procedure development
Ability to support travel and shift work as required to meet program objective and milestones
Desired Skills:
Experience developing and implementing a Model Based Systems Engineering plan on a program
Experience with containers, virtualization, and other DevSecOps concepts
Experience with cloud computing
Experience working in the ASW field (underwater acoustics domain experience)
Experience with MATLAB
Experience with Signal Processing, SONAR, and/or Acoustics
Experience with DOORS
Experience with Java, C++, or Python
General knowledge of networks, communication link bandwidth needs, and quality of service (QoS) analysis
Experience with Automated Test
Experience in leading teams
Experience in program execution of large, complex systems
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Security Clearance This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years.
