Position Summary The Financial Analyst supports finance and executive teams with financial analysis, serving as the primary finance business partner for specific business units. The role involves financial skills in business finance partnership, FP&A, reporting, and ad‑hoc analysis, with strong collaboration across Sales, G&A, Customer Experience, Editorial, and Production.
Location & Employment This role is based in New York City, NY or Boston, MA, requiring at least one day in the office per week. Candidates in these areas are preferred.

Responsibilities
Provide timely, relevant, and accurate reporting of division performance against historic, budgeted, and forecasted results to facilitate decision making for senior and executive management.
Prepare reclasses and accruals as part of the month‑end close process.
Collaborate with stakeholders and provide finance and business support to various functions (Sales, G&A, Customer Experience, Editorial, Production), including creating and analyzing standard and ad‑hoc reports and guiding on potential concerns.
Prepare monthly flash reports analyzing sales, expenses, operating income, and variances to budget, forecast, and prior year.
Prepare and review sales analysis by format, channel, customer, division.
Prepare bridge analysis for revenue and operating income.
Manage the budget and forecast process, including overhead expense, balance sheet, and cash flow planning.
Develop budget/forecast templates and supporting schedules for board presentations, loading data into SAP.
Provide finance support to the High School team, including sales budgeting, royalty review, title P&L preparation, and ad‑hoc analysis.
Prepare sales reporting and analysis, including daily reports by division, channel, account, and coordinate inquiries into third‑party digital sales reporting.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience ensuring data accuracy and delivering on time.
Expertise in Excel, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, PowerPoint, Google Sheets, and Google Slides.
Strong multitasking ability.
Excellent verbal and written communication of complex financial information to diverse audiences.
Experience performing quantitative analysis.
Demonstrated drive to learn and solve problems in detail.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SAP, Cognos, PowerBI.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, accounting, or business.
Three years’ experience in a corporate environment.
Salary $60,000 – $70,000 per year
Exemption Status Exempt
Physical Requirements
Periods of close concentration; must be able to multitask.
Work in noisy/busy environments.
Occasional travel.
Regularly work over 40 hours per week.
